When we found out about the surgery over a month ago I started making lists after lists of all the things we needed to get accomplished. Now that we are days away the lists really don't matter that much. Sure, we got a lot of the tasks crossed off but I'm not sure there's enough you can actually do to prepare for such an event. I guess it's similar to what they say about having babies: you are never really ready. The really important thing has become collecting books from my family and friends. I've been in a mass frenzy trying to collect enough of a variety that the weeks of recovery will not feel so stale.
On Monday, November 3rd, I have a pre-op appointment and will also receive the test results from all the blood given, urine samples, and other enjoyable specimens given. I'm really excited and hopeful that no other major issues come up. To date, our only discovery is that I tested not immune to Rubella so I've had the Measles Mumps and Rubella vaccine. It's worthy to note here that 30 days must pass before one should consider getting pregnant after receiving the vaccine.
In the same week as the Rubella shot, I also had a tetanus shot as I stepped on the pointy thing on my niece's belt buckle. That shot was fun - my arm swelled for about a week but at least I am healthy and safe from any type of poisoning.
Well then, that's it for me. We hope this finds you in the best of health and spirits. Happy Halloween!
Cel.
